Rent With Option To Purchase
In partnership with the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands (DHHL), this innovative Rent With Option to Purchase (RWOP-LIHTC) program will create a new pathway to homeownership for qualified DHHL beneficiaries on Maui. As the first DHHL RWOP-LIHTC program on Maui, the homestead will offer quality, affordable rental homes for households earning approximately 30%, 40%, or 60% of Area Median Income (AMI), based on household size and program requirements. Eligible families will have the opportunity to rent a newly built home while working toward the option to purchase in the future—expanding access to affordable homeownership and helping build a strong, lasting DHHL homestead on Maui.
